The services provided by the RDS-EM are available to all NHS researchers and others working in partnership with the NHS primarily within Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland, who are considering an application to a suitable funding body.

Suitable funding programmes are peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care research. Priority will be given to supporting proposals to be submitted to an NHHR scheme.

We are not able to support:

• The development of projects for which there is no intention to submit a grant application to a peer reviewed recognised funder as described above
• Actually doing the research. If required this would need to be costed appropriately into the project grant bit, and it would also depend upon available research capacity and interests of host institutions
• Formal supervision of informal support for students
• Any aspect of activities that are not  research, eg audit, satisfaction surveys
• Conduction unfunded analysis on data already collected
